About the trip
Iceland is a land of lava fields and waterfalls, colorful mountains and crystal clear lakes, thermal fields with many geysers, basalt columns, ice caves, and many more unprecedented and incredibly beautiful phenomena, inviting us to visit this northern island.
We invite you not only to take the ring road, we invite you to make an unforgettable journey deep into the land of fire and ice, as if to the center of the earth, on off-road vehicles, overcoming numerous rivers and falling in love with the unique nature of Iceland.
The program
Day 1
Group gathering in Reykjavik. Getting acquainted and solving organizational issues: currency exchange as well as purchase of products and gas cylinders.
After lunch, we set off along the route.
Today, we visit Kerið – a lake located in a crater of a volcano – and two geysers – Geysir and Strokkur.
The flow of water from Geysir can reach 60-70 meters in height, however, the water from it erupts quite rarely, unlike from the neighboring Strokkur. At the end of the first day of the program, we will admire most popular place in Iceland - the Golden Falls, which is how Gullfoss is translated from Icelandic.
Overnight stay in the tent.
Day 2
Today we begin to immerse into the center of the island on our journey to Kerlingarfjöll. It is a mountain range consisting of a large number of different minerals that give the terrain various colors. Many hot springs paint the soil in red, green, yellow and other colors.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 3
Next, we head to an equally amazing place in Iceland, Landmannalaugar, checking out two waterfalls – Hjálparfoss and Háifoss – on the way, as well as the rarely visited, but undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes in the country – Laungisiour.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 4
On this day, our cars will rest after yesterday's difficult day, while we set off on a track at Landmannalaugar Natural Reserve. We will see pink and green mountains, lava fields, crystal-clear rivers, and in the evening everyone will be able to take a swim in the thermal springs near the campsite.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 5
After leaving the campsite, our path lies to the Land of the Gods, which is what the Icelanders call Thórsmörk. Here the untouched nature remains as it was many years ago.
After admiring the waterfall, the Seljalandsfoss and the site of an airplane crash, we will take a stroll through the black sands of Vic Beach and take some great photos of Cape Dyrhólaey.
Night in the tent.
Day 6
Today we will visit a few of the must-see places in Iceland. In the morning, we will have an easy trek to the shield volcano Laki, and afterwards we will visit the Svínafellsjökull Glacier and the largest ice lagoon in Iceland – Jökulsárlón.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 7
Today, we will visit the most inaccessible place of our program – Askja volcano, 1,516 meters high. Cold winds are blowing here, and light snow and temperatures near zero are nothing unusual even during summer.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 8
Víti Crater, Leirhnjukur volcanoes and Kraftla - this is what we will see in the morning, followed by the Hverir geothermal field, Hvítserkur stone monster, and more.
Overnight stay in a tent at a campsite.
Day 9
After visiting the Bruarfoss waterfall, Gerduberg basalt columns, rocky peaks of Lóndrangar, west coast of Iceland, and Mount Kirkjufell, we arrive in Reykjavik.
