About the trip
The mountain range in the National Park Des Ecrins is considered one of the highest mountain ranges in France. It is somewhat lower than the Mont Blanc massif, but numerous 4k peaks are here: Barre-des-Ecrins (4102m), Laurie Peak (4086 m), Dom-de-des-des-Ecrins (4015 m), Mun Pelvou (3946 m), La Mege (3983). In addition, there are still about 100 three-thousanders and 40 glaciers.
The park has over 740 km of well-marked trails and has 30 shelters/refuges along the trails. Coniferous and oak forests dominate the landscape at lower elevations, alpine and subalpine meadows as we climb higher. The park is also natural habitat for Alpine marmots, chamois and golden eagles.
This will be a 7-day backpacking trek (plus 1 backup day). In backpacks, we take all tents, sleeping bags, mats, camping gear as well as kitchen supplies and utensils and carry with us on the entire trek.
Altitude range is approximately 1000-2800 meters. In just 7 days, we will cover 135 km with a total elevation gain of 7-8 thousand meters.
The program
Our route map
1-2 days
Departure from Lviv at 5 am. A road trip through Ukraine-Poland-Germany-Switzerland-France is a ahead of us, a lot of miles to cover.
Overnight in Germany at the campsite in tents.
3 - 9 days
Backpacking in the National Park Des Ecrins Range.
Altitude ranges from 1000 to almost 2800 meters.
In 7 days, we will complete 135 km circuit with 7-8 thousand meters elevation gain.

Backup day.
11-12 day
On the road back home. Arrival time in Lviv late at night, perhaps after midnight depends on the border crossing and delays if any.
Included
The price includes:
- Transportation by van from Lviv to Nat. Park Des Ecrins
- All nights on a trip in a tent, at refuges or in campsites;
- Professional guide for the entire route;
- Common use equipment: pots, gas burners, fuel, GPS navigator, first-aid kit for the group
- Consultations on trekking, personal equipment, insurance, etc
The price doesn’t include:
- Food (~40-50 euro per person for the entire trip. Depends on the actual price of food, some of which we will buy on the road. You can also bring your own food) All members of the group take participate in cooking and will carry it on backpacking trips
- Visa/passport fees (aren't required for a biometric passport)
- Shower in campsites and shelters;
- travel/medical insurance;
- equipment rental, if necessary.
